Program Overview
Through this exchange program with
Kyungpook National University (KNU), located in the city of
Daegu, you will have the opportunity to take a variety of courses designed to address global issues and provide a new perspective and understanding of Korea. The classes are offered in English and cover topics including global and regional affairs, Korean language, economics, culture, history, and politics.
There is also a new option with the
University of Seoul (UOS), located in the city of
Seoul. Here, you will have the opportunity to take a variety of courses designed to address global issues and provide a new perspective and understanding of Korea. There are many classes offered in English and
can be found on their website!
General Steps
- Students must FIRST meet with us. Please call us at 931-221-6851 to make an appointment.
- Students must also meet with the APSU Exchange Program Faculty Coordinator (contact below).
- Complete the application process at the host institution and/or third party provider.
- Complete the APSU study abroad online application.
- Register for classes at APSU and at the host institution.
- Pay tuition ONLY here at APSU.
- Pay for housing and meals at the host institution
- Do your semester abroad!
Please note that the spring semester at KNU & UOS starts in March. Their fall semester starts in September.

Courses
During enrollment, the appropriate APSU course number will be assigned to the KNU/UOS courses in which you enroll.
The courses listed below are offered at KNU. Practical Korean Writing, Practical Korean Listening, Korean Language 1, Korean Language 2, Korean Language 3, Academic Writing and Study Skills, Business Communication and Writing Skills, History of Korea, Modern Korean Society, Environment and Health, Introduction to Korean Public Policy, Korea in Motion, Korean Localities in the Globalization Era, Contemporary Legal Issues in Korea, Language use and Production in Korean and English, Introduction to Korean Welfare Policy, Understanding Korean Workplace, Academic Korean Speaking, Academic Korean Reading

Lodging and Meals
You will reside in a double-occupancy room in a dormitory housing both Korean and international students. You must supply your own blanket, pillow, towels and slippers. Three meals per day are provided in the dormitory cafeteria if you choose the meal plan at KNU. There is no meal plan provided at UOS.
Financial Aid
Your current scholarships and financial aid may apply toward the cost of the program. If you plan on using financial aid you need to call the Office of Student Financial Aid at (931) 221-7907 to schedule an appointment with a study abroad counselor.
