Program Description:

Study-Abroad Program • Summer • Three Weeks

Dates: May 29, 2017 to June 16, 2017

Program Overview
This West African Study Abroad in Senegal is a unique way to experience a different way of living, to find beauty and power in the culture of other people, and to be submersed into the rich and diverse Senegalese culture. Participants will be exposed to the everyday customs and traditions of the typical Senegalese family, study African film and literature, and thus increase their understanding and appreciation for West African cultures, arts, and social life. Students of all disciplines are encouraged to participate in this Study Abroad Program.

General Itinerary
This summer program in Senegal is designed to engage students in African film and literature courses interspersed with onsite visits to cultural and historical sites.

Three-week program for 3 credit-hours. Students will register for APSU's ENGL 460I: Special Topics in Film Studies

Lodging and Meals
Lodging with a Senegalese family and most meals are included. Your host family will provide breakfast and most dinners. You must provide you own lunch.

Your current scholarships and financial aid may apply toward the cost of the program. Program Costs

Application Fee: $430
This nonrefundable application fee will be charged to the student's account once the student authorizes the Office of International Education during the application process or not later than February 15.

1st and 2nd Payment need to be paid at APSU Cashier's Window
to the Senegal account.

Tuition: $777

This tuition is based on 3 credit hours. Tuition is due prior to departure and will be billed to the student's  account after registration.
