Program Description:

Study-Abroad Program • Summer • 4 Weeks
(1 week in Clarksville, 3 weeks in Austria)

Austria Summer

Dates: June 26, 2017 to July 22, 2017

Program Overview      
Through this program, you will take part in an intensive German language program at the Language Institute of the Universität Klagenfurt. You will reside at Wörther Lake in the Alps, just a 10-minute walk from the university. In your leisure time, you'll get a taste of Austrian culture - including real strudel and schnitzel - during activities such as day trips, cultural events, sports activities. 

Credit-Hours and Courses    
6-8 credit-hours. You will register for APSU's GERM 3040 Study Abroad in German, choosing from studies in beginning German, intermediate German, advanced German, literature and Austrian culture.
General Itinerary
Students are expected to be in Klagenfurt for dorm check-in the Sunday before classes in Klagenfurt start. If you wish to travel with a group of students, you will fly out of -and into -Nashville International Airport (BNA).  We will travel to Klagenfurt either directly by flying or by flying to Vienna and then traveling to Klagenfurt by train. The itinerary is tentative and subject to change.

Lodging and Meals
You'll reside in a double occupancy room in a modern dormitory with cooking facility. Single rooms cost more and are available upon request. You'll receive a meal stipend each week.

Financial Aid
Your current scholarships and financial aid may apply toward the cost of the program. If you plan on using financial aid you need to call the Office of Student Financial Aid at (931) 221-7907 to schedule an appointment with a study abroad counselor -Cathy Naef or Jennifer Ellis. Program Cost

Application fee: $430
This nonrefundable application fee will be charged to the student's account once the student authorizes the Office of International Education during the application process.

Payments Amount Due Dates
1st Payment $1,821 March 15
2nd Payment $1,821 April 15
1st and 2nd Payment need to be paid at APSU Cashier's Window
to the Austria account.

Tuition: $1,554
This tuition is based on 6 credit hours. Tuition is due prior to departure and will be billed to the student's account after registration.
